| Already spoke to Tom in email, but mum and step-dad (aka Desert Bunnies) will also be coming along in the RRC and the home made Sankey trailer | |

| Tembo - you're welcome to join us no problem.
To re-cap: I have allocated an area for users of the forum (including GirlChild and Viking Explorer with their little Kapp2Cape excursion, so if you want to park up on the stand, tell the staff on the TRADE GATE and we'll get you on the pitch. The TRADE GATE will be operating 24hrs, so if you're late arriving Friday night, no problem.
The "4x4 overland Travel" Forum Display Stand will be on hard-standing. It’s not actual tarmac but shale – compact gravel if you like – the type where you can still drive in decent pegs for battening down awnings, etc. (not thin flimsy tent pegs that instantly bend). If there's room you can camp on the pitch, if full them you can simply drive around to the Camping Meadow late afternoon.
Just thought - has anyone a gazebo or similar they could bring with them? Bear in mind though that we will need it up to 16:00hrs on Sunday. A couple of lightweight ratchet straps wouldn't go amiss too, if not then I will have some blue cord available. Wind and lightweight gazebos don't mix!
Okay, I'm off to site today (Monday) to set up, so emails and posts on the forum will be virtually nil - best phone if you need something as I'll be there all week. 07958 216266 is the event number.
See you all there!

| Have plenty of lightweight, medium weight, and heavyweight ratchet straps, plenty of plastic, hemp, and steel rope, and some tarps. | |

| A £15 gazebo from B&Q would do. Knowing you assassin it would be something akin to a circus big top! I was going to say "las big as the Dome" (or O2 as they call it now) but that would be just exagerating. Seriously, a gazebo and a couple of straps would do it. Yep, come down in your Milly. There will be a 1959 French Berliet there as well, get them together they can make babies! Anyway, my very last post before the show ...It’s all systems go for ADVENTURE OVERLAND this coming weekend – www.adventureoverland.comTrade stands are completely full up (have been for nearly a month), loads of display vehicles, there’s a full programme of seminars/talks/lectures with some top people giving up their time, the bushcraft demo area has been set up, there’s even a floodlit 2-hr enduro kart race scheduled for the Saturday night – looking good! Just remember to offer up a prayer to the rain gods to ‘take a weekend off’ for a change! Camping ‘pay on the day’ still available although filling fast, plus of course day admission 10:00 – 17:00 Sat, 10:00 – 16:00 Sun. £10 adults, children under 16 yrs free. Me, I’m off to site to start setting up, so see you all this coming weekend … it’s going to be a good ’un! | |
