Well it does wind from Chicago to L.A., more than 2000 miles all the way! Nice one, sounds great. Never mind about Stratford, there will always be AOS`15 to look forward to. You never know, I may even have sorted out the trade layout by then!!!

| With a few side trips were doing around 3000miles and unlike the song were going from LA to Chicargo as its much cheaper due to staking the rental vehicle back to the start and the weekend we finish there is a massive jazz festival there 48hour party I'm led to believe well can always sleep on the plane on the way home | |

| Ralf's gone all arty and been playing at Film Director with his take on ADVENTURE OVERLAND 2013 - video now on the homepage of the event website: www.adventureoverlandshow.comNot half bad for a first attempt I reckon far better than anything I could produce, that's for sure! He's ordered some editing software for video footage as well, so it will improve as time goes on. Anyway, see what you think. | |

| Yes looks good, my only small query would be to see if Ralf could maybe slow down the frames a bit, did not get time to see some of the photos, just my thoughts, | |

| That's the idea mate, snapshots of vehicles that make you want more. It worked perfectly at Donington 4x4 Show. I had two screens, a 32" and a 40", both playing that video on a loop. Folk would stroll by, see something interesting, and by the time they started to think about what they had seen, up would pop another image equally as good or even better. People found themselves watching until the end, then would then watch the repeat until they came full circle to where they had started. Very effective indeed. | |

| Talking about marketing the show, I have just introduced online booking! Wey hey!!! Official pat on the back for me! What, McGuigan's actually stepped into the 21st century I hear you cry? Well yes indeed, and no sooner had I embedded it into the website, a couple down in Bristol actually used it to book. Amazing, instant success! 'ave a butchers - www.adventureoverlandshow.com/#/ticketscamping/4557663785 You can click on the BUY TICKETS icon and pretend to book up so seeing how it operates, but when it comes to asking for a credit card then simply log off and shut the site down. No contact details or data is kept or registered in any way, unless of course you actually buy a camping permit, in which case the company (TicketSource) email out an e-ticket to the purchaser so they can print off their tickets themselves. Clever, they have even got a Telephone Box Office where you can actually speak to a real human being! Of course, those who do purchase tickets/camping via this online or telephone service will be charged a booking fee, but it will still be less (albeit pennies less) than booking by snail mail or paying on the day. The point is it's convenient, especially as they can now use their flexible friends. Me I hate credit cards, but people seem to live their lives by them nowadays, so who am I to buck the trend? And in case you're wondering, yes I've set up the same online booking system on www.landylive.com too. The 21st century, who'd have thought it? | |

| Anyway ... inspired by the excellent list of speakers at the HUBB (remember, I've only been into running adventure travel shows for a measly 2.5 years, they've been at it for decades!!!) I've been hard at it and the Seminar Sessions are coming on a treat. I'm well pleased as I've already got some good speakers lined up for this year, and not the usual guys. While the famous/infamous high-profile presenters are always interesting as they've been there and done it, I'm at present attempting to entice the one-man bands to tell their story too. To me these are every bit as good or even better than the big names, for they are the unsung heroes of our hobby/pastime/call it what you will. Still in the process of creating a list of speakers - watch this space!!! | |

| LATEST NEWS:-
Due to the organisers of the "LRO Show" at Peterborough moving their event dates to the weekend immediately before AO`14 (P'boro dates in 2013 were three weeks before), it has been decided to allow pre-event overnight camping at Stratford-upon-Avon Racecourse from 22-09-14 [Mon] - 25-09-14 [Thurs]. Thereafter normal show camping is possible Fri - Sun nights.
This means that campers at Peterborough can now drive direct to the Racecourse and spend a few days exploring the delights of Stratford-upon-Avon and surrounding areas!
Cost is just £10 per unit per night - no charge per person, per awning, etc. [a 'camping unit' comprises of any type tent/campervan/motorhome/expedition truck], caravan sites are approx. £20 or more. Just turn up an pay upon arrival, space is really not an issue at the racecourse!

| Hi, we have just booked our camping slot at the show and I can guess what the answer will be but I thought I'd ask anyway; Can we use briars/bbqs o the campsite? We went to the first event but missed last years. Glad to see its going from strength to strength and looking forward to it. | |
