ADVENTURE OVERLAND SHOW: 28-29 September 2013

Well, I've been gone and done it. I can at last officially confirm that ADVENTURE OVERLAND has a new home - and new dates!

Rather then me waffling on, I'll repeat here the announcement I've been sending traders today:-

As it happens, I haven't even had time to update the event website yet, but I had to announce the show's new venue and dates before anyone else nicked the same slot in the calender.

AO`13 now avoids clashing with the London2Brighton Land Rover Run, and also Newbury 4x4 Autojumble which next year has been forward by one week, so would otherwise have been on the same weekend at AO`13.

Phew!

as this years one then it'll be great. Tom, thanks for organising this for like minded people.

You've hit the nail on the head horace, it's a show for 'us'. Been wanting to go to one for years, but with nothing around I simply started one myself.

Talking of which ...

This afternoon I've introduced a “2-wheel adventure zone” within the showground. This will encompass both motorised and pedal-power, so will be a big step forward for the event!

Did say AO`13 was going to be BIG!

Good news! Now I can actually pick dates for an October trip if life and budgets allow. Let me know if you are going to be looking for volunteers to help out.

I think I can speak for the 2011 Landy rally crew when I say book us a space in the camping area please Tom
We had 9 there this year next year we would like to add a few more

Think we may well be able to get there this year as its just before we take a hop accross the pond... hopefully to do some offroading while out there!

Yep, couldn't believe my luck to find such an upmarket venue. It's just what ADVENTURE OVERLAND needed to become a major date in the event calendar, and like I say, with so much space, the show can continue to grow for years to come.

Dying to post an aerial shot as you'll really see what I mean about space, but first I have to make certain I'm not infringing anybody's copyright before doing so - don't want a large bill landing on the door mat. The photo I found states at the bottom of the page ...

Best I don't reproduce the image or a link through to it then. That said, if you were to Google "aerial shot of Stratford Racecourse" you will almost certainly find the same shot as I did.

The buildings you will see in the middle of the 'V' are a cafeteria, a toilet & shower block and a large room with a licensed bar they normally use for betting. In our case this room will be the main focal point at the heart of the show as it will house the Seminar Sessions, so everything else such as Trade Stands, Display Vehicles, Club Display Stands and Camping will surround these buildings. As I said, room to expand!

Well done Tom, will go have a look. Since it isn't that far, might even go have a wander around one day when it is open.

Likewise, it'll be good to see the place in action before we get there. I tell you, people will be impressed.

You could say that, thankfully I caught it early so no damage done. Quite the opposite in fact! "Every cloud ...." an' all that.
