Dave - it might be a good idea to let us know what you've planned, that way others may be able to fit in with you. Me, just for now I'm going to step back and see what's going on, as I may be in advance of all of you.

There is a cunning plan being formulated whereby myself and Ralf (The German guy who owns Kenekke - Scandinavian outdoor clothing - some of you on here already know him) will book a large trade pitch at Bad Kissingen under the title "UK 4x4 Scene".

Here I can advertise ADVENTURE OVERLAND, whilst for the rest of the stand we can sub out segments to various 4x4 traders from the UK so they can also promote their products/services. This way we'll have an HQ in the trade area throughout the show for any Brits attending ... in other words a cold one or a cuppa at all times!!!

As it isn't cheap to book a trade stand there, hopefully we can get a decent price for a large chunk of real estate, that way we can in turn sub it out at a reasonable price. Working on it, keep you posted!

As mentioned before, I'll probably leave on the Sunday morning, stopping Sunday and Monday night on route in campsites I've used before.

Normally use P&O Dover> Dunkirk.  About £85 return for my truck (7.5 metre length)

Hi Tom. Great idea about the trade stand if there is enough interest in traders attending.

Also regarding my route, it's looking like Stratford - upon - Avon to Brussels area Monday. Brussels to Frankfert area Tuesday & Frankfert area to Bad Kissingen Wednesday. Probably using Eurotunnel as I have a ticket for £1. I think we will B&B or hotel for the driving days & camp at BK.
Nothing finalized or booked but also looking at a different return route.
Will update as I finalize things.

Hi. I have planned a route but it is subject to change... We (me & wife) will leave Stratford on Monday 16th June and arrive in Bad Kissingen on Wednesday 18th June. I will return by a slightly different route as using different accomodation. The plan is to B&B/hotel it en route & on return route with camping at BK.

I will use Eurotunnel for the crossing but this is yet to be booked.

It's great to get there early and watch all the kit coming in, also, if the weather is better next year, it's great to walk around the site.

I normally try and book the DFDS 01.30 or 02.30 crossing managed to get a £17.50 each way last year.
With the crossing time and the extra hour I normally have a big greasy fry up on the boat then that sets me up for a good few hours driving once across   

I take it you are talking of booking the ferry & not the actual show? It is my understanding the show campsite cannot be booked? Is that correct?

Yes Dave, campsite is paid for as you get there, believe it or not, if you pay for six days and leave early the reimberse you. The tickets for the show can be bought on the day, single day or for the whole weekend.

Not sure about the others but I was just talking ferries.
I'm not doing the Bad Kiss show but will be at the HUBBUK with some other forum members looking after the AO2014 and forum stand. Trying to convince the travel bike community they ought to buy a 4x4 and strike out across the deserts and wastes of North Africa.

both book the ferry and i wanted to know if you have to book a place in the camp site....

yea thats fine any time for me.....looked at ferry and was getting about 80 quid.....60 quid if you want to leave at 4am...  ...not.

£60 that's gone up loads since last year then the dearest crossing I did last year was £72 return and that was Dieppe to Newhaven.

£49 each way for mine, £44 if before 10am.  Still looking at midday crossing cos the first stop for me is Brussels so no rush.  Just noticed some of the return slots on the following Sunday are sold out!  Might have to extend to the Monday

ok i am ready to book... choose a ferry i wont be coming back with you as i am heading for scandinavia for a couple of months.....so heading north.....  but sunday lunch time is good for me.....

ok guys i am going to book the ferry this weekend so i know i have a place...looking at the ferry with DFDS dover to dunkirk 1200 ferry its £44 one way.......anybody else coming or catching that ferry...
