| There is a third option however, that is for friends, acquaintances or fellow 4x4 owners to supply images free of charge (with a credit naturally - Photo courtesy of Fred Bloggs). I am after three photos at the moment for instance. They are for an article on wading/fording across streams, rivers, flood waters, so I can show what a bow wave should look like ... or a car/4x4 in trouble in deep(ish) water. Anybody help me out?[/quote] Here's a couple you're welcome to if they suit your purpose. | |

| None of the crossings pictured could be walked to check the depth due to the fact that they were in crocodile habitats. | |

I've amended the article to include a couple of your shots, they are perfect to explain what a bow wave is - http://www.europe4x4mag.com/2016/02/18/3206Thanks again!

| Brilliant ... "we were house-hunting when I got bogged". Opps! I'd really love to extract the urine, but 6 tonnes would catch anybody out. Wow!
Lovin' it! Thing is we're 800m up, hence we're not going to have stupid 45 degrees temperatures in the summer like they did in the south last year. 30 degrees is normal where we are, that I can cope with. As stated previously, it's an open house here, call in whenever. Sure you have my number, give me a bell.
Portugal is good ... so I hear! Last time I tried the head gasket blew, so never made it. Have a fantastic contact in Portugal now, so email me and I can put you in touch.

| The chassis breaking article is really quite disturbing----I have seen a nearly new Landy 109 tray back in Australia after being repaired with a broken back----but seeing how they used it I am not surprised it had broken---Land Rover should have fitted a smaller tray to it-----when working on farm-land/stations you are not too bothered about pay-loads----just filling it up. I felt quite smug seeing all those Jap trucks broken, knowing what the chassis was like on my old 3500 Dodge-------Until I saw what looked like a Ford 3500 truck with a broken back!!!!-------To be fair our de-mountable camper was 2 ton so there was a terrific stress point at the back of the cab when hitting 'frost-heaves' or those deep dips in the road that made the whole thing 'wallow'
Another great article Tom------keep up the good work Nigel

| Thank you kind Sir. 20,000+ people reached on Facebook, not a bad return I'd say. Pleased to hear you'll be able to make it to the Adventure Overland Show in September by the way! | |
