Europe 4x4 Mag is on it's way!

I mentioned in another thread that when I arrived in Spain I would be working on something BIG. Well, you'll still have to be patient, but here's the Press Release which is just being posted around the relevant internet websites:-

1st February 2016 will see the launch of a brand new online magazine - Europe 4x4 Mag. Predominantly written in English language, the magazine will feature the very latest news within the 4x4, off-road, quad/ATV and overland scenes, including new products, accessories, travel and events from all over Europe. More news to follow.

The countdown has begun!

Some thing to look forward too, 

You wait, this new online mag is getting more interesting by the second, and there's still a month to go. Regular columnists signing up, new features never seen before. Can't wait myself!!!

Might even be of interest to those of us out in the "Colonies" as well.

Indeed, hopefully it will be. It's a lot of work but I'm getting there.

Defintely looking forward to this.  I haven't bought a UK LR type comic for a couple of years now. total crap.  But subscribe to the Australian "unealed 4x4" online magazine... good it is too, a mix of different vehicles, but obviously just Aus based, not europe.


Edit: willing to send over some tech stuff I've got here... my 90 and 110 build, project G etc. laning around Salisbury plain etc.

looking forward to it tom....i haven't renewed my subs to LRO as it just seems to be 90-110s it should be called LRO 90-110 international....pah.....boring as get funky....

I used to buy every UK off-road/LR/4x4 mag every month, in my position I had to. Now I don't buy one! Much as I liked to turn the pages, the internet has all but taken over. Even the AA magazine (that's the Automobile Association by the way, not Alcoholics Anonymous ) with a circulation of over one million has gone electronic with an 'e-magazine' - that says something in itself.

Yep, the world's certainly changed, apparently it's called 'progress'.

Like you I stopped getting the LR magazine's, most had the same articles in time, also full of advertising.

Was able to get a look today because WiFi was of, so had a great read like the magazine, well done. 

Cheers Yoda. Lot of work as per, but do it for the love of it. If along the way the mag and the shows can pay the bills and allows me to do some off-roading/travelling in between, then I'm happy. Never going to earn a fortune, knew that very early on.

If I wanted to do that, I'd go back to plumbing in London and charge £200 out fees! I tell you, the world's gone mad.

Looks good Tom! I like the balance between motorsport, overlanding and the rest. I can even say I read both Assassins' articles...liked the winter driving one and chuckled in my determined Luddite's scepticism of the pro-electronics camp. But all enjoyable! Well done.

How often will you be posting a new edition?

Thanks Tembo, means a lot coming from somebody with your knowledge of 4x4s. It won't be regular fortnightly or monthly, instead it'll be updated as copy comes in or I'm around to write it. This may mean half a dozen articles in one week, then only one the the following week.

My biggest headache are photos. Gone are the days you could simply lift images off websites to insert along your own text (if they ever existed at all of course), copyright laws are so watertight these days that you have two choices - add your own images taken with your own camera, or buy images from a photo stock company. That said, the latter just isn't viable as photos can cost £5 or more each. No way!!!

There is a third option however, that is for friends, acquaintances or fellow 4x4 owners to supply images free of charge (with a credit naturally - Photo courtesy of Fred Bloggs). I am after three photos at the moment for instance. They are for an article on wading/fording across streams, rivers, flood waters, so I can show what a bow wave should look like ... or a car/4x4 in trouble in deep(ish) water. Anybody help me out?

If anybody has an article they would like to appear in Europe 4x4 Mag, simply email me at 4x4trading@talk21.com - with at least three photos of course. No set number of words, it can be from 300 to whatever???

And before you ask, granted it's a European publication, there's no reason that folk like Gold Rig can't join in. We all love reading about what you get up to down under, so send in what you have. Ta!
