| Hi againe we are now about one day away from Calais, diveing in the rain in Spain and France has been like driving through a shower, for 2 days non stop, then one day fog all day, and yes very very cold, quess what heater stoped working, it was too hot in Morocco now freezing. But when we get to Dover we still have about 1000 miels to home. But we are still smilling | |

| Good to hear Kevin. Keep us updated when you have a chance. Will be happy to hear when you are finally at home. I think the worst part of the weather is that next time we do an October trip south, it will be hard to find the motivations to come back north...at least until spring! | |

That's the reason that, if we only have a short spell away, we try to get back in the Spring--Not worked out too well this winter as we have to be back in early March:( -----but at least we should have some time out of UK ------If all goes to plan, we should get a month in Maroc. Nigel & Pamala

| Yoda & SWMBO landed at my place yesterday, off tomorrow to their relatives in Blackpool - they're getting there slow but sure. Hope they wrap up, still no heater in the camper, just hope it doesn't snow as they head forever northwards. Snow + a cold windscreen ain't a good combination. | |

| Weather is Ok in North East Scotland at the moment. We had a reasonable fall of snow last week with some of the higher roads closed but everything is clear now and the snow has gone from the lower levels. Looking like it is staying mild for the rest of the week.

| You made it to Blackpool - good stuff. Now all I have to do is replenish stocks of tea and coffee, and face the electricity bill for the treble use of the kettle. Strewth, they drink a lot of hot stuff! | |

| Ecky thump guys, I shouldn't think anything more could happen to you, you really have had bad luck for the whole of this trip one way or another, the important thing is that you are both OK. How bad is Sasha is she repairable? Should think you are glad to be on home turf now, its been a long adventurous trip one way or another. Take care. | |

| Glad to hear you are both OK. Sasha can be mended I am sure but people are bit harder to bang the dents out of. But good to hear you will finally be home and can rest for a while. Lots of stories to tell next time we are all together I am sure!

| Thought I might update on Tembo while I am online as well. He is currently sitting at Rogers of Bedford waiting for his fuel injection pump to come back from a rebuild. It has had a slow drip for a while and needed to get sorted for an MOT. So, I expect him back by the end of the week. Then time to get started at stripping off that crappy pink paint. I have decided to paint Tembo a BS381C-359 Middle Buff...a light brown colour that is a bit darker than your standard desert sand. Sadly, it will have to be a 'satin' paint rather than matt but I figure painting with a brush and roller the shine wont be too bad.
I am also converting the front end to a Series III set up with shortened bonnet and indented Grill and radiator panel. So will be looking for a winch in the spring. So, Tembo will be coming out with a new look for Tom's first show in June.
I will also be sourcing a decent CB and NOT buying it from 4x4 CB!
So, lots to keep me busy this winter...

| I can't believe you are not keeping Tembo pink. Do you know how much trouble I had to go through to get you the paint in the first place Ha Ha !! I think a dark sand is the way to go. I've been looking at a 90 pick up thought I might as well go the whole hog if i'm looking at saving weight etc. I looks to be an oldie but goody the owner has spent some money but run out before getting to the interior so it could be the one for me ! | |

| Sounds good...we can see who can get through the toughest spots next time. Maybe your 90 can even match Tembo for never getting stuck once!
And if you want I can help you choose a colour if you want to paint it...I will even volunteer to go buy the paint for you!

| That sound good, as I have had some experience of painting a Land rover I''ll happily give you a hand to paint it!!!!! Have got my duel burner stove sorted so that is ready to be used on the next trip, I have also managed to purchased a lifesaver jerry can, a 20000ltr version for the price of a 10000ltr version. As I thought it would make sense to have one and reduce the amount of water carried (I had 80kgs of water) it would also provide a fallback in case anything happened to Tembo's one. Looking forward to see the remodeled Tembo, Am still cleaning all the sand out, I think that is going to be a ongoing project but never mind, it was brilliant and can't wait to get out there again. | |

| Thanks mate, it's a shame it's been resprayed in green with the mandatory white roof but if I do get it and I want to repaint I know who to call Good call on the lifesaver mate a pound saved and all that On the cleaning front I've spent a day on the interior of mine and you wouldn't know I've touched it. Ill give it another go when I get home and have a go on the exterior with a mop and try and bring the paintwork back | |
