4x4 Overlanding Trip to Pyrenees June 2013

I am taking my 1993 Isuzu Trooper to the Pyrenees for some off roading.
Has anyone got any information on trails I can follow or I have heard that the Vibraction Roadbooks are very good especially Roadbook 10 and would be interested in a second hand copy or borrowing a copy as I am not likely to use the roadbook again once bought which makes it an expensive purchase. Would be grateful for any feedback or information especially a copy of the roadbook :-)

Hi Dan ... first and foremost, welcome to the forum!

Plenty of knowledge about the Pyrenees on the forum, so should be able to help.

Thee questions:-

1. French or Spanish Pyrenees - even better, a specific location if only heading to one area.

2. What time of year are you thinking of going. Conditions vary greatly depending on the season.

3. Gentle off-roading or more extreme?

Got to be honest this is the first time I have been on a forum site so not quite sure how to work my way around it yet to maybe get the information I need which is probably why I would be relying on you!

To answer your questions:
1. Was planning on giving Vibraction Roadbook 10 a go which starts in Ainsa in the Spanish Pyrenees and finishes at St Jean Pied de Port on the french side and from looking at a picture it goes through the Sierra De Guava, Santo Domingo and de Areta ranges on the spanish side but have no idea about trails through them.
2. We are travelling down from Calais on 8 June for a week with a friend in his Land Rover 90.
3. Gentle off roading is good and the milder side of extreme would be ok as we have to get back home.

we are camping along the way so a few campsites would be good but we are all happy to wilderness camp some nights.
