| No problem mate. If there's ever a couple that would go out of there way to support my events, it's your two. As you say, next year. You'll be pleased to know your pitch went to very good use. Because one club had set up beyond their desinated area, it meant their immediate neighbour (a trader), didn't have enough room to reverse in their exhibition trailer, which in turn had a knock on effect as I had no option but to re-locate traders and clubs as they arrived. Eventually Club 80-90 Syncronauts - www.syncronauts.org.uk - had your pitch, so all was well in the end. The thread about ADVENTURE OVERLAND can be found here - http://forum.club8090.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=106471&start=90 (the discussion really gets going on page 7after they have attended). Ian, this mob are really good fun, well worth contacting for a joint get off-road together on your home patch in that there Wales. Yes it would have good to see you there, but as has happened many times in the past ... work gets in the way of fun. | |

Why? Anybody would think you were ready for flooding. Okay, we had a deluge Friday night, only to be expected as after all it is still British Summertime, but the two consecutive days of glorious sunshine were extremely welcome. One redundant snorkel ... I'm very glad to say!
. Tom You know better than that - snorkel was fitted to cope with the vast dusty plains of warwickshire and dirt track roads between leicester and daventry as we followed the yearly migration of the overlanding types to the watering hole that was 'adventure overland'

| These you mean ... Perhaps I should dig out the banner and allocate a dedicated pitch for ex Land Ralliers at AO`13 ??? It would make perfect sense, then again, since when were Landy Rally teams ever sensible? | |

| We all enjoyed the show - including my traveling friend adam who has never been to any type of car/overand/etc show. Was not sure what to expect but to your credit Tom (and everyone else helping) you pulled it off really well. I think I arrived a little too late on the Saturday as everything was already well established by the time we arrived and ended up parked away from most of the action - need to get up earlier next time! A interesting selection of vehicles to peer into took up the bulk of my time. If I am honest I forgot about the speakers. What I enjoyed most is random overlanders coming over to us to share a tale or two - can't beat getting maps out and showing/sharing routes :)As well as those simply interested in our Landies and Sankey who I enjoyed chatting with. The toilets were not brilliant - but let's face it - most of us have seen worse! Although I have to say in the mobile unit it was a bit weird being what felt like surrounded by full length mirrors shoulder to shoulder to the Gentleman next to you! Look forward to the next one - I don't go to many shows (find most of them samey) but this is one to have a permanent fixture in the diary | |

| Yep, a big thumbs up from me and the Global Adventure team! Had a fantastic weekend! Picked the rest of the team members up from school on the Friday and headed across to the show and had the roof tent deployed before the down pour . Then spent all weekend catching up with old friends, and making new ones! Great to meet the Kapp to Cape crew, and everyone else. My kids certinaly made sure that the Little Land Rovers were put to good use all weekend and enjoyed seeing all the different types of vehicles, and they will never forget the talk from Oyvind and Sheelah! So glad to see that plans are being put together for 2013 show. Just hope I will be in UK for it, as have several trips planned for 2013...!!!!! Well done to all those involved..!! | We had a 'stand' in the middle of the trader's between Toby Savage and the expensive motorhomes and opposite the Jerky Shack and the Mobile Centre.

| That was one problem with the show.... It needed to be more than just two days to get to see everything and everyone..!!!!! My kids kept dragging me back to the Little Land Rovers and I got carried away looking at some of those Overland Trucks. Having your own boat and quad bike takes it to another level..!!!! I could not mingle at the pub in the evening for a little refreshment, as needed to get the kids in bed, so was stuck at my campsite with my own supply of 'refreshment'. I also had some friends come up on the Sunday who are Overland virgins but are planning to start, so dragged them around the stands, but must have missed you .... sorry! | |

| Tom:
Don't beat yourself up too much as every response is positive, you never find all the unplanned problems until you run an event and actually come across them, so what have you learned?
Delegate a little more, highlight the problems and issues you have spotted this event and record them, use the information to make the planning more precise next year, and make a good event a spectacular event for the future.

| Bit of a perfectionist I suppose. What may seem fine to a visitor, it's annoying for me when I know something could be better.
However, I'll readily accept the 80% positive feedback to date, the remaining 20% being mainly constructive suggestions with only half a dozen complaints about the entire event - four of which were fully justified. Not a bad ratio I realise, but it's still frustrating not to have a 100% perfect record; next year!

| Hi Tom I notice that AO13 will be moving to Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground , what advantages does it hold over Whilton ? Personally it will have added interest for me as hopefully we would be able to get a look see at the preserved cold war jets that populate the grounds there :-) | |

| 99% certain it'll be Bruntingthorpe, although I won't be officially announcing it until later this week. Basically I need to re-visit the site with my trusty measuring wheel (Yoda's favourite piece of equipment) to re-measure the Showground area. Just in case there is a lot of rain leading up to the event, I should be able to utilise the tarmac areas to prevent it turning into a mud bath.
The place is truly massive, wonder if the wheel also measures miles? That's the main advantage over Whilton Mil. Yes WM was cosy, but for ADVENTURE OVERLAND to develop, the event has to move. We barely mananaged to squeeze in all the display vehicles as it was, so next year ...
Yep, the planes are a big bonus. Have you seen the size of that Super Guppy they have there - awesome?
