Tacoma verus Power Wagon for South America travel Empty

I'm debating using a Tacoma versus a Dodge Power Wagon for an overland trip to South America via Central America. We'd start the trip in California. Both trucks provide similar features. The Tacoma is a bit smaller, but has great agility. The Power Wagon is a beast (in a good way). I'm wondering about a few things. Getting parts I would assume is easier for a Toyota truck than a Dodge. Is that assumption correct? Both have great overlanding capabilities. Does anyone have an argument for one over the other. Just to fill in details: we will be using a Four Wheel Camper (a self contained camper that sits on the bed). We will have the usual overland vehicle features: skid plates, 4X4, suspension upgrades, heavy duty bumpers, side sliders, winch, additional storage, etc. Comments about using one truck over the other would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, I know nothing about the Dodge at all. But parts wise, it has to be Toyota, as you can get Toyota parts just about anywhere in the world! Good luck which ever way you go

The Tacoma is alot bigger than the Toyota pickups we get, think its made for the US market probabily not alot of expertise here and not sure of parts availability.

See if the same model truck is sold in the countries you are visiting , if so parts availability should be good.

In the end for any truck , almost anywhere, DHL (other carriers are available....) will be your friend for shipping parts in.
