| Could well be the 2.8 turbo dieel. I would send an email (complete with that photo) to Merv Burgins and see if he knows. He made his name years back converting Range Rovers to Isuzu diesels. That was years before Land Rover Limited produced the first 200 Tdi, about the time Land Rover were starting to produce the first Italian VM-powered diesel Rangies. www.macks4x4info.com/index.php?option=com_sobi2&sobi2Task=search&Itemid=4 | |

| Well have now found out about my Isuzu engine The 4BD1 is a 3.9L big block direct injection diesel sold in Isuzu ELF trucks as well as marine and industrial applications from 1979. Power output was 125 PS.Peak torque is 280Nm at 1800rpm. Also known in Batangas, Philippines, As the "Barako," it being used in jeepneys. The 4BD1T is a turbocharged version of the 3.9 L 4BD1, it was produced from 1980 and was fitted to Isuzu NPR trucks from 1986 and sold in the US. Approx 135PS peak torque is 330Nm at 1800rpm, also use in jeepneys in Batangas, approx 180kph on its high and low transmission they use. My id is 4bd1 but it does have a turbo on. | |

| The Aussies did indeed fit Isuzu lumps in their Penrite 4x4 and 6x6 Defenders, surely it wouldn't be too difficult to find out which type? Get Googling mate! | |

| There are some crackers there. I realise the driver of the black 4x4 in the first clip didn't intend it, he was simply trying to regain control, but because the yellow dropside intially caused the accident it looks as if the driver was out for revenge!
The second and fourth clips are good too. Look for the prdestrians crossing the road, they barely break stride as the carnage takes place directly alongside.
The car being T-boned by the truck on the wet motorway was pretty amazing.
And as for that tram bing knocked off the rails on 3.07, that must have been some force.
Now I've seen the lot, the conclusion is ... you're right, a tank is the only way! | |

| You're not installing twin shocks on the rear then - diagonally opposite the existing ones? Must be VERY heavy duty shocks. | |

| Well an update, nearly there. Well we bought a land rover camper, it was in a sorry state doors sagging, A pillars completely shot, foot wells, not good half missing and some holes in chaises, some out riggers very bad and rear cross member shot, and radiator. Then we found top of front bulkhead needed repairs, so dash out roof of and front screen off. Also needed to replace brakes pads and discs + rear drums and shoes, all bearings, bushes, bump stops and front drag link steering arm and damper + all shock absorbers needed new front bumper as well, all lights to be replaced, loom from front to back to renew and replace the 3 seats in the cab, one new seat belt. Engine is an Isuzu 3.9 diesel with turbo, made in 1985 so will change all filters and fan belt, will have to find a new or second hand turbo + heater, will change hoses, and renew oil in engine diffs gearbox. Having trouble trying to find someone who has parts (any help needed). In the camper itself having to cut out some rotten wood and replace, replace all curtains and seat/bed covers, then paint it. The Land Rover started on the line has a 110 Hicap with a V8 engine, tacking of the line and moved to special vehicles’ then had the camper made from a quadtech box. I was told it was for a support crew on the Dakar rally, still checking this out. http://www.exmod.co.uk/images/130CamerabodyT825JOG_000.JPGDilys has made all the curtains and seat covers, and painted the seats. The welder has finished, now he is ready to make the exhaust. I have the brakes to finish, put in new loom from front to back, then wire up all lights, fit new radiator last will be seats in, the doors on, then book the MOT. | |
