PostSubject: Discovery/RRC and also some defender repair panels   Discovery/RRC and also some defender repair panels EmptyMon Jan 10, 2011 2:38 am

Picked these up last year when the plan was still to repair the discovery but alas it needed too much to make it economical to repair so these are now surplus.

I've a pair of Discovery rear body mount brackets like these and one sill section like this but I belive the sill section will also fit RRC too.

they do have a bit of surface rust on them in places where they've been in the shed but it is very light (can take photos if required)

Also got a pair of the defender bulkhead corner repair panels like these

These did all come from YRM and I can post too (might have to trim a bit off the sill section though as royal mail won't go more than 1.5m) or welcome to collect from just outside Malton, N yorks.

Open to offers on all of the above Very Happy

I'm interested in the body mounts, I've got a D1 300 that needs surgery and I'm gathering the bits. What do you want for them.

Ian, my disco,s getting a bit tatty around the edge,s this year I,ll strip the interior to deal with the rot, but long term what do we do? I keep pondering whether to build it in to a 100'' defender type or a 110 galv chassis and a 109 with the disco mechanics. ( I,v built a few LR,s my first coil sprung was in 1977 well before LR), I just don,t want to go TD5 or newer, I know you can just buy a 300TDI 110 but they seam to have had a harder life than the Disco and would need rebuilding.
How would a hybrid be accepted at boarder crossings I don't know although most European country's say it illegal to bring in ex-military equipment plenty of ex army LR go over seas.

Know what you mean, don't want D2 but my V8 is getting a bit long in the tooth. 110 not my interest as I like a bit of comfort and a 110 is like we used to use at work. So collect the bits, bite the bullet and get it rebuilt.
