Engels refrigerator repairs in spain

help required just parked up in Burgos on route to Barcelona and found the fridge has packed the compressor run but the temperature climbs higher we've tried taking out the vehicle and tipping it upside down which hasn't help

That's a difficult one. Vehicle repairs yes, fridges - NO!

If they repair domestic fridges, they must be able to deal with a 12v version. I would suggest phoing them and saying - "Do you speak English". If there's a silence or a definite no, then just say "bueno gracias" and hang up. Keep phoning until you strike gold!

If you can't get it repaired, simply a pack of ice from a supermarket that will last at least a day if not more. 12v fridges are well insulated.

Last but not least, you could always call into my casa 1.5 hours north of Barcelona, ice cold beers await ... and I'm serious!!!

Thanks for your reply, only just seen it l lost internet access for a few days after I posted the topic I did try a search didn't find anything usefull nearby we did start using bags of ice and bought some freezer blocks which we got frozen at which ever campsite offered that service we also bought a 12 volt cooler box. Thanks for invite, we will look out for you at the overland show.

If you have to resort to ice then as you say, tupperware-type blocks last for ages. As I have no fridge in the Orangemobile at present, I bought an ex army cool box - it's the type where you can either have solids or liquids, like soup for instance.

Well, you can image what a military cool box is like, it's the best you can get for insulation, so a couple of blocks last all weekend. Short term it certainly solves the problem.

As you say, see you at Stratford. Doubtless I'll be in headless chicken mode again, so best find me in the beer tent in evenings. I'm a bit more static there in terms of running about, although I have been know to 'sway' every so often.
