| You mean the same Todra Gorge that's now tarmac. My mate and I were lent one of the first SavNavs by Silva as part of a sponsorship deal in 1994, and we found the mouth of the Todra Gorge at the dead of night. Took us right to it, brilliant piece of kit! As we had made it, we just had to drive it there and then. Very weird and spooky with the sound of two burbling V8's bouncing of the canyon walls as we picked our way through the boulder-strewn river bed. Most memorable for me was the sky. Because we couldn't see beyond the top of the gorge's high walls, which of course were were jet black, it was like looking at a 'river of stars'; truly spectacular. Got to the other end, found the hotel built into the rock, partied with some Aussie girlies on an Exodus-type overland truck trek, crashed out in the hotel (can't remember who with!!! ) played in the river with the Rangies outside said hotel the next day, then drove back the other way through the gorge in daylight. Even more awesome! Yep, overlanding is good. | |

| That be the one! Shame about the tarmac, but I bet it's still stunning. | |

| Great phots.....You can't realy blame them for making the Gorge more accessible to cars and coaches. Those people need the passing trade....and to be honest, it aint much of a road. | |

| Well it ain't a gorge for nothing, I bet when it's in full flood it must be spectacular - well, I'm assuming it turns into a raging torrent come spring?
Anyone seen it in full flow? | |
