If Kieran from Free Spirt 4x4 gives you electrical advice ... ignore him!

During Land Rally we knicknamed him "The Firestarter". I think his record was setting off one year he didn't even reach the end of the road befroe smoke appeared from under the dashboard. Him and wiring just don't get on. getting nowhere fast

Do it properly Jason, use a relay and seperate fuse box and avoid high currentl at the dashboard as this starts fires.

I have same setup but NOT on a switch. 55W lamp piggybacked onto reversing light-just upgraded fuse at fusebox and all seems to work fine. That is only when in reverse though, so never on for long.

If to use also as a worklamp then yes, would wire on a seperate switch.

You are allowed as many reversing lights as you want as long as they are correctly wired.

You must retain the original wiring from the gearbox switch, but can tap a spur into it which is wired through a seperate switch to a relay, from the relay you can wire as many reversing lights, of whatever size you like. The original reversing lights must always work!!!!! any supplementary reversing lights must be capable of being switched off for road use, and you must have a visual indicator within view of the driver to indicate when any additional reversing lights are illumunated; perfectly legal.
