| Hello & Welcome to the forum!
Im sure there will be someone on here who could use some more information on travailing across Africa.
Feel free to post up past pictures and more useful info, even us who are not heading out in that direction might pick up some useful pointers.

| Hi guys, sorry, that we hadn´t replied for a long time, we have been busy with work, different stuff etc. We have been in Africa in 2012 as well, this time stayed 2 1/2 months and from this nearly 2 only in Zimbabwe...those videos are form Zim, we even found some ringing rocks, which are not really mentioned in tour guides, or at least no maps etc... Now, I hope those URLs will work. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zww7HE9kkBUhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=brQpluakzVEHave fun! | |

| Hi, well, we are not from Zim, but spent a lot of time there. With this trailclearing thing we had been very lucky, our friends from the 4x4 Club Harare invited us to join them for some unpaid hard work in a National Park...so off we went! A completely untouched part of the park where no tourists go and a bunch of very cool people...we just loved it! Oh, I forgot...here is a mistake I made in Sudan, which pissed the locals off a bit. Sorry for the bad video quality, but our Sudanese friend filmed with his camera. I stupidly stalled the car and slid backwards into this little dam... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9k22Zr-XgAyou are welcome to comment on my stupidity! | |

| Could have ended badly, but you obviously go away with it. The point is you didn't panic, others in the same situation would have. It happens, it's all part of off-roading.
I do however think that the Patrol would have got out under its own steam were it not for your roof tent. It was quite clearly impacting on the centre of balance, turning the vehicle into three-wheel-drive .... yet another reason I'm not keen on them. | |

| yep...the other thing is that we were quite heavy in the back, with our drawer system and a lot of stufff packed in the back. We had chosen a short wheel base, which, considering Andrea loving artefacts and souvenirs, we should have never bought but a LWB instead! | |

| Hadn't spotted it was a SWB. Makes a big difference, especially when driving on corrugations - helps irons out the bumps. As you say, if nothing else, the additional carrying capacity is certainly a bonus. | |
