| Got a message from the apparently all seeing, all knowing Terracan Jas when I posted a reply to a message on the difflock forum. I'm an Aussie/Brit now living in Ukraine because I figured the UK would be a miserable place to sit out the economic crisis. So now I own a couple of backpacker/traveler hostels in Odessa and Sevastopol. My 4x4 thing is long distance, solo, winter expeditions....It's more fun at -30c Can provide detailed first hand advice to any fellow nutcases on 4x4 travel in Eastern Europe, Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Turkey, Syria, Jordan, and winter driving inside the Arctic circle and Siberia. Currently planning a 3-4 month winter trip for 2012 from Odessa, east into Chechnya and the Caucasus, past the Caspian Sea and on to the Baikonur Cosmodrome in central Kazakhstan. Then into Mongolia, north up through the Altai mountain range into Russia, and then west across the Siberia steppe and back to Odessa. Always remember: There is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing | |

| Well originally it was a 1981 2 door Range Rover Classic in god-ugly Tuscan Blue
Now its a 1981 RR pick up truck body (not a bob) in Matt Black with a reinforced chassis with 1994 running gear and 5 sp box behind a 4 litre V8 with a 500 Weber Carb running both LPG (140lt in triple tanks) and Petrol (80lt in tank, 100lt in j-cans) with a Red Top Starter and 2 Yellow Top Acc Batteries with splitters. A Hi output 160amp Alt Arctic Oil Heater Unit Oversized heater matrix
TerraFirma BigBore Expedition shocks and springs all round. 2 inch lift lit Kumho 265 KL-71 boots. 12000lb winch. Lockable Custom Pickup Cover Custom Roof Bars and Racking Racing Buckets with 3 point Harnesses
I tried to upload you a pic but hey....not allowed to post images for 7 days. Its dented and dinged, rusty and homemade...but reliable and unstoppable. She aint no showpony But I'll take Ugly but Effective over pretty any day.
