Overland & 4x4 Travel Show 13th February 2011, Warwickshire Exhibition Centre

Although totally independent of this forum, there is a new show being staged in Warwickshire on Sunday 13th February 2011.

Organised by David Round (the same guy who founded the British Indoor 4x4 Show at Donnington), this new event is sensibly priced and needs our support. And before you ask, yes, “4x4 Overland Travel” will have a pitch there!

they don't seam to mention about any camping near by or have i mist something only one camp site near but not open any one know of any thing would be nice to meat a few put faces to names

The Exhibition Centre do not allow camping ( for Trade or Public ) on their site....

I have a list of local accom ( from hotels to campsites ) as long as your arm that I could email to you... PM me with an email address and I will send the list over

Excellent Chris. I must say this show has come along at just the right time, so looking forward to putting a lot of faces to names next month ... and the way this forum's taking off, it could yet be a whole lot more!.

Does anyone have any kind of display boards I could borrow/purchase for this exhibition? You know the type, folding boards about 5 or 6 foot high capable of accepting Velcro so I can display posters, photos, etc.

Just about to hit ebay and the like, but if you hear of something ...

If you want to learn about overlanding consider the RGS WEEKEND

The RGS weekend is more 'educational' with lectures/presentations etc and is much more relaxed. Much easier to talk to other travellers and to the few traders there.

IF Warwick is busy then it might be difficult to just chat to the traders and fellow visitors . One standard bit of advice I give to newbies is to leave the plastic at home for first show or two so you don't get blinded with bling and get carried away. (That is advice from someone who is now a trader!)

Also try to ascertain if people have used their vehicle/gear etc 'in anger' or are they just sales people?

Also consider your NEEDS first rather then your WANTS! We have a well equipped overland vehicle and a lot of kit on there we do NOT recommend that most people need. Nothing wrong with the gear but do other people need it or want it?
