4x4Adventures to host a new concept event in 2016.
4x4Adventures have added two new events to their existing line up of Drive Round Days and Green Laning expeditions. Known as “The Big Outdoors”, these events are aimed at vehicle dependent overland travellers and other lovers of the great outdoors. The format of the event is a long weekend of relaxed camping on an isolated site in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park. James Trembath and his team have devised a program of hands-on activities and talks covering such themes as vehicle preparation, practical first aid, off-road radio controlled car area, bush craft, recovery and navigation. There are also additional bolt-on activities that incur a small extra cost such as green laning tours in the local area, a gentle drive-round track, Canadian canoeing on the River Wye, led mountain biking, and recovery and driver training. Alternatively, participants may just want to use the event as a base for their own forays into the Welsh countryside.
Early bird tickets are just £60 per vehicle, with a further discount being offered to groups of 5 or more vehicles prepared to display their club for others to view. The first event will be held over the weekend of the 5th-8th May 2016. The BOD is aimed at owners of any type of vehicle, whether a motorbike, a 4x4, an expedition truck, or even something more exotic. The common denominator is a passion for travel and a love for the great outdoors, combined with a wish to meet and relax with like minded people. There is a limit at 50 vehicles so book early to avoid disappointment.
