| I will be happy for the convenience of a Tarifa ferry...but not enough to pay €100 more than driving the extra 15 minutes to Algeciras and having more choice of destinations (Cueta, Tanger Med, Tanger)...including fast ferries. While Cueta has a bad rep, to be honest I didn't mind it that much and by taking the early morning ferry it did actually go pretty fast at the border. Other than the Tembo paint chaos...I could live with going back through Cueta. The only reason to go to Tanger Med or Tanger is because the price is better or we can do the paperwork on the ferry and just have to clear customs once off the ferry.
So it looks like at least a few of us will arrive in Tarifa ahead of 5 April, so whoever does can go to the Tarifa port and see if we can get a better price. If not, drive over to Algeciras and pick a ferry/destination port there. I honestly don't see that much business going to Tarifa port if their prices are so much higher, so possibly by the time we get there they will have put together a better deal. We can just keep watching the HUBB forum and others to see what people going down this winter are reporting.

| I agree James Tarifa would be a lot more convenient but not for a 100€ premium. I thought that 180€ last year was disproportionate for a 45 minute crossing as it was. The thing I liked about the main ticket offices at Algercirias was the fact the people also sorted the vehicle import paperwork as well although it was not needed as I'd done mine before we left and the price was the same as the so called discount sellers. After doing the customs once it holds no surprises so should be no problem at all vehicle colour included | |

Table booked at the The Dog House Faringdon Road Frilford Heath Abingdon Oxfordshire OX13 6QJ
For 12.30 on Saturday January the 17th They have a lunch menu with loads of main meals from £5.99 for anyone's eating. The foods not bad so I for one will be going for the steak and ale pie made with old speckled hen.
If I can have an idea of who's coming and in what vehicles that would be great !

| Subject: L R mags Thu Jan 08, 2015 11:26 pm | |
| Hi all
What is the general thinking about publishing details of our trip in one of the Land Rover mags ?
I was looking at doing a couple of group photos at The Dog House adding a couple of shots from the last trip and doing a little write up (might need a little help with the dialogue).
I have a friend who writes for LRO and LRM under an assumed name and is confident we could get a mention in the mags if she forwards them to her contact.
I know some of your are a bit dubious of publishing detail of the trips in an open media so thought I better ask before going ahead.

| I have been asked by one of the main writers at LRO to do a feature article for their magazine. I was going to tell everyone about it on the 17th. So, yes we will be in at least one of the mags. We will also be doing another film for HUBB/AO15 as well. Now we just need someone to organize the interpretive dance version of the journey... | |

| Thought everybody knew it was announced months ago, HUBB UK will be back at a new venue in 2016.
Apparently the existing venue was quite costly to hire, plus the facilities weren't quite suitable for their requirements. In the meanwhile they will have several small events for the bikes in 2015.

| Well, there we go. I did like that location but that is their decision. Maybe somewhere without a motorcycle racing track next to the camping area would be good. I guess its up to AO to carry the overlanding flag this year then...no pressure Tom! | |

| Or next to an airport! As they didn't have a venue this year I actually offered to allocate an area for HUBB at AO`15, but they wanted to keep HUBB as a totally separate event. Fair enough, you can but help. | |
