I have gone with saga but i think you have to be over 60 years, might be wrong but you could check, they will give a green card, they can offer brakdown cover with the AA, I personally do not like the AA, so looking elswhere.

| Strewth, I've only just realised what they've done. The driver/passenger doors are by the back wheel, meaning that those headers may not be fake after all. Under that extended bonnet could live a monster engine from a truck ... or even a Spitfire!!!
Whatever, a fair bit of work has gone into that beastie, must be weird to drive with that massive front end.

| Hi guys hope your well. Just to confirm I will be attenting the meeting in January. It looks like I can have the full month off work so I should be able to do the full trip. I'm just waiting for confirmation from the powers that be. I have had it verbally agreed just waiting to have the I dotted and the t crossed! The new jeep that I had has blown up! So I will be coming in the trusty frontera. At least I know it should get me there and back as its done it once before. The frontera has been parked up for about 7 months and it's gone green. I jumped started it last weekend and it started on the button. Getting the mot done next week too.
I'm unsure about travel arrangements at the moment. If it's ok with James and Jon I may travel down with them, but this is dependent on the amount of leave I can have from work. Hope you all have a nice Christmas and I will see you in January.
Steve

| Hi All I went to the Doghouse yesterday to arrange our lunchtime meeting with the staff, I was hoping for a quiet corner where we could chat have a drink and possible a bar type snack with table space to spread out maps etc. To be honest they were not very helpful, they wanted me to book a table for a number of people and pay a deposit. I think they are in Christmas lunch mode and think the current level of bookings will continue long into the new year. I am going again in the week and will speak to the manager not the foreign bar / waiting staff. On a side issue the new owner is now settled in the Crown (where we met before) and from early reports from villagers he seems willing and eager to get more lunchtime food type customers than the last guy who just wanted people in drinking large amounts of beer. If I get no joy from the Doghouse in the week as we want a casual type get together not an organised Christmas / new year type dinner I will go back to the Crown and report back. As both establishments are less than 1.5 miles apart it will not cause any problems for people traveling from further afield to the meet. I will report back before Christmas | |

Algerciras to port med is a bun fight on the ferry as they do the immagration on it......if you want something different do Tarifa- tangers the port is 15 mins from the campsite torre de la pena...... https://secure.frs.es/index.php?id=57&L=1&gclid=CMrO7IbRxcICFWPmwgodXm0Axw

| I didn't realize there was even a port in Tarifa with a ferry...is this something new? As to the price....€279 for an open return for two people in one vehicle? Last year I paid €187, but that was for one person and a vehicle return. Was this about what you paid last time Kevin?

| Yes I seem to remember a small port on the southern corner before we turned west for the campsite.
It does seem quite expensive to cross from there I did a search and it came out at 280 ish euros and I seem to remember paying around 100euros less at Algeciras.
