| Well sasha now gone. So have bought a motorhome, an Isuzu NPR 6 ton, has almost the same engine as sasha. It is 4 berth with shower toilet, cooker oven, 3 way fridge, also has a geny in the back, awning and tow bar. Will get some of the inside soon, will be attending the HUBB show, then Landy Live, both in June. | |

| Also has a big fat aerial on the roof, that'll please SWMBO - Corry a plenty! Only a 4x2 I see, unless it has twin wheels at the back of course, in which case it would be a 6x2 I think but it's really all you need 95% of the time. If you do hit remote places, providing you're with other motors with all-wheel-drive capability, then you've no problem. Plus, if you wanted to be totally independent, you could always fit a winch system one day that would tug you forwards and backwards. Probably no need though. Good choice mate. For the money you couldn't have afforded a 4x4 camper anyway, they cost a fortune for anything like a decent one. At least you won't have to renovate this one, just jump in it and go. Also when arriving, not only have you now got room to swing a cat (always a bonus), you and guests can easily stand up in this one without having to raise the roof. Wey hey ... luxury. Really pleased for the pair of you, especially after the sudden demise of Sasha I. What will you be calling this one I wonder? | |

| Far too luxurious and far too comfortable, you'll miss bumping around and all that cramped space in sasha Well done, looks a nice piece of kit, whens her maiden voyage? you were right first time Tom 4 x 2, need another axle at t back to be a 6 x 2 . simply put it's 4 road wheels x two driving wheels, except where it's military trucks as in the MAN SX45, KAT or SX 2000 when it's 8 x 8 as in this vid https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzPRYdPk0-Y | |

| Although I worked on FORD trucks for a few years, I didn't know Ford made a Chinese Six on the D series.

| Nice one Tom, here's the real deal, and this example is a Ford D series. 6x4 with two steering axles. This one would make a good camper, already got the porta loo | |

| So, not knowing the actual answer, do I gather a Chinese Six is a three-axled vehicle, with the front two axles steering? | |

Yup. Actually it's not. It's an eight legger with one of the rear axles missing Google Chinese six and see what you get.

Talking about axles, this will test some of you younger whipersnappers What's a Chinese six? I'm only your junior by six years and I thought it was this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_Consolidated_Benevolent_Associationor is it this?: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b036r5cxand that'l be WHI PPERSNAPPER if you don't mind Oh happy days, eight leggers, trombones, six leggers, armstong power steering! jake brakes, shap, shots, fixed cabs the lingo was endless and they were lorries or motors then not "trucks" and "rigs" That was when the transport industry had soul
