Yes. That is a pic of a crocodile.
Yes. Man eating saltwater crocodiles do inhabit the area of the Ski Gardens.
Yes. It is safe to swim there.....No-one has been eaten in that area for years.
Yes. It does act as an incentive to NOT fall off your skis.

Hi Gold Rig, I'm out your way later this month, Sydney on the 13th Nov and up to Cairns on the 18th, driving down to Brisbane 20th Nov to 4th December. I'm looking for some good camping area's were it doesn't cost the earth and with some nice views. Driving a Nissan camper van with my wife and daughter so can't do the rough roads. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Inskip point is an awesome spot with easy access. It's one of my favourite beach camps. Pic no5 and the last 3 in this thread are from that area.
