| Got a chance this last weekend to try out the new shower kit I bought for my truck It worked great and only used 2 litres of water to give a good wash for a big bloke and of course being a stingy overlander it had to be cheap | |

| I saw this somewhere else as an idea for a shower option when travelling. Glad to see it works Hope you had a shower curtain installed somewhere | |

| That's just what we used as our shower during our trip across Australia.
It was very successful. One kettle full of hot water topped up with cold and there was enough water for a couple of nice warm showers. I used a small piece of thick dowel to attach the lance to the roof rack so you could have a shower with two free hands! Who needs a shower curtain when you're in the middle of nowhere!
We used a thick rubber linked doormat to keep our cleaned feet out of the dirt.

| That ebay unit looks very interesting! Plug it into your vehicle electrical system, drop the submersible into a water jerrycan and you are in business! | |

| Careful fellas, I bought one of these in Maplins about six years ago for £10 and it's still working well so look for a better bargain. I've got it in the truck so if anyone wants to test drive the shower at the show (with pants on) | |

| Doesn't anyone just stand out in the rain with a bar of soap anymore?
Last time I had a shower outside in the buff a woman saw me naked and thought she was on short measures with her husband.

Well, a tad more than iveco4x4's garden sprayer! From memory it was about $200. Well worth it on cold winter nights.

| £139 - decent price. Although I get wary every time I see the magic words ... "The unit can be plugged in to a cigarette lighter socket". Depends what you're running of course, a pump in this case, but how many times have leads melted with an array of kit plugged into cigarette lighter sockets? My fridge for one! Far better to have heavier duty cable and crocodille clips straight to the battery. | |

Jed Mate, these things are bonza. Ours has had a workout on many occasions. We quite often go on fishing trips that last for a couple of weeks and this is the only shower that we would use. I power it off the battery in my camper trailer and use the water from my twin water tanks and we are totally self sufficient. In most of the places we camp that is essential. The gas bottle hooks up to the unit with the supplied hose, you plug in the power lead and drop the submersible pump into a bucket of water and you have instant hot water. The temperature is easy to set and the water switches on and off at the hand held shower rose. It couldn't be easier. I totally recommend them.

| Like I said, why bother to have a shower if there's no 'R' in the month? Bit pongy at the mo I have to admit, what with it being May, June, July and all of August to go since my last encounter with man-made rain. Good news though, won't being seeing most of you until next month, so Septembe r should be safe. | |
