Hi everyone, my name is Maureen and I'm managing the publicity for The Ultimate Challenge. I've just joined this forum to publicise the event and over the next 5 months while the Challenge is taking place, keep you up to date with information sent back by the team and hopefully with some photos and maybe even video.

Those Good Old Jimny Boys are really in a rush.
I should say, let Heaven wait a some months longer so they have some time for them selves to enjoy this gigantic event. And I know they are doing it within 5 months to stay out of the freezing cold. I would make some other choices.
I wish them a lot of strength and luck.

In my opinion, a six month target would be far more realistic. As the vast majority on here will know, the unexpected is to be expected with overland travel. That said, it is a challenge after all, so fair play for setting the bar so high.

You're all absolutely right, Les is mad. It's a challenge that would tax guys half their age. As with all challenges it is not without it's drama already.

Les is short a driver now due to unforeseen circumstances, he needs a driver for one of the Jimny's from Hungry April 14th to Novosibirsk May 9th.

Anyone out there up for a challenge???

Blimey ... the best laid plans of mice and men. Unfortunately little hiccups like this are bound to happen. Shame I can't make it myself only have a show I must attend 5-6 May. Never fear, bound to find a replacement pretty soon.

Then again, how long does it take to acquire a Russian visa?

What would be the arrangements for a replacement driver, fly out to ???? in Hungary and back from Novosibirsk ... and do the flights come out of the kitty or would it be a case of self-funding? To ask around, I obviously need to know this information.
