| Hello there. I have just signed up to the forum having been into all sorts of land rover based stuff, i am selling off both of my land rovers and buying a 110 C.S.W to adapt to suit travel around England, Europe and possibly beyond if we get that adventurous. Hopefully i will be able to use this forum to get ideas and answers to lots of questions so i apologise now for being a pain in the backside. I come from a heavy vehicle technician background having worked for Scania Volvo and MAN, presently i build bespoke land rovers for a well known Defender peddler in the north of the country so i get to do my hobby everyday ( its ok but the weeks are long and hard so getting away from it all is what i am after by having a motor i can just load up and go) So thats me Really, will see you around the forum as i discover more. Cheers | |

| Hey welcome Roger D, good to see another fan of the LR on here. I joined last year and it is a good bunch here. Lots of info and experience. So go ahead and ask away. Hopefully we will see you out at the overland show later this year... or on the road. | |

| Hi Roger and welcome. You are obviously an expert on Land Rovers and you must be a glutton for punishment, working on them all day and then in your spare time.
I too would love to travel and have had a hankering to visit Morocco for a number of years but the wife has other ideas but she is fine if I want to go for a few weeks without her so I guess I'm pretty lucky in that respect. Alan | |

| Hi Roger, all I can say is "why is a fella with such heavy truck experience living so far away". Welcome, and as mentioned, look forward to your experienced input and hopefully meet at one of Toms events.

| Thanks for all the welcomes. If i get both the others sold i will be getting a 300tdi csw as good as i can afford as a start and working from there. There is just me my wife and dog so there will be plenty of space to do what i want, i would like to be as self sufficient as possible so have a long list of "must haves" Extra fuel tank(s) On board water tank On board air Old man emu suspension (or as good as) Diff locks (Ashcroft, not new ARBs they are too complicated) Winches front and rear (get out of trouble as well as into it ) Comfy seats for me and the wife Engine tweaks to pull the weight Alloy roof rack Howling moon roof tent Wolf rims 235 85 16 BF Goodrich all terrains, 2 spares bonnet and back on carrier These are just a quick few for now but you get the general idea! | |

| Well having no success in the selling department i have decided to do my old ex military 110 into the overland camper. Started today stripping her out ready for sound proofing and interior mods will take time but will get there | |

| Huh, bet it won't take as long as my RR ambulance is taking to turn into a camper. The thing is, the spirit is willing but the bank balance is weak. That's life! Never mind, it'll get done when it's done. Hope you have more luck with the 110. | |
