Blog of Megan and Simon’s 9 month/10 countries overland trip to Australia (London to Singapore via Malaysia and then on to Darwin) in a Land Rover Defender Hi-Cap 130 called Harriet.

I've been following this couple's journey of late, it's interesting. Click on DIARY top of the page to see what they've been up to since Christmas and see what you think.

They travelled through the Cameron Highlands in Malaysia - Land Rover heaven as the LR there were imported from the early 1950's and have never moved off the tea plantations of the mountain range. If they do they would inccur a hefty Import Tax, so there they remain to this day still working, still grossly overloaded.

Their latest blog about Delhi just about sums up what I've heard about the place ... it's manic!

I've also been following this too ... very inspiring!!. So much so we're giving up work for a year from 30th June, but think we'll be having lots of little trips rather than a big one! ..

Is going to be so much fun!

Like his comment about the women in Thailand. Never been there with 'a partner', but I would imagine it would be impossible to look straight ahead when all around you are some awesome sights - naturally I'm talking about the flora and fauna Rolling Eyes

Nearing the end of their epic journey. Seems they have found out it can get pretty nippy at the start of winter over there. 3 degrees overnight, not good.

Also loved their comments about Canberra - for me it sums up the vastness of Oz.

"Trip wise, we had heard mixed reviews on Canberra, most people saying it’s not worth visiting and to be honest, when we were only ten minutes out of the capital and still in countryside we thought they might be right! Can you imagine anywhere in Europe where you’re ten minutes from the centre of a capital city and you are the only car on the road, driving through open country dodging the local wildlife? It was a bit surreal."
