Hello and Welcome to the Forum!

Nice website! - The pics in Wiltshire look familiar, I've gone down the same routes in my Terracan.

I take it the Jeep Grand Cherokee in your avatar picture is yours???

Hello Jason

Thanks,

yes that is mine taken last year in the Pyrenees,

she is slightly modified with a small lift, uprated rear springs and slightly larger tires,

You dont really need a super modified vehicle just reliable,

Hi Gary, the newsletter is a good idea. I see on the "Pyrenees West 2013" tour you state ...

"We finish the tour in Andorra, traveling across the border using a old smuggler route accessable only by 4x4 vehicles."

Delighted you don't mention any towns/villages en route to give the game away about where the actual route is located. GOOD! Hate it when folk mention specifics on the internet, it's good that the route is not publicised or the place will be unbearable.

BTW ...

Sorry, just have to mention it - “travelling” and “accessible” are both spelt incorrectly in that sentence!

Hello Tom

Thanks, I think you probably know the area and even the trail, It will probably be very busy in July but agree with what your saying, you only have to look here in the UK and the trouble with all the lanes, and how busy they get, only really since the internet,

Its doesn't seem a bad program for doing that, complicated at first but once you get your head around it its ok.

and thanks for pointing out the spelling mistakes, should have printed it off and got someone else to look it over,

Gary

Oh yes, I know it alright. Next time you're in the bar at the bottom mention Landy Rally, she'll know for sure!

By the way, as we are both thinking of the same place and nobody knows exactly where we're talking about ...

Be aware that if you stay for dinner and a session she'll let you camp by the river (okay, more a large stream really). It's her land there on the riverbank, so provided it's "unofficial" and just for the night, the local authorities turn a blind eye as officially one needs a permit. Indeed, she prefers if you don't erect your tents until the last patrol by the Guardia early evening - can't think why??? The other thing that's not possible, no open fires, understandable given the nature of the place.

It made a lovely stop on the dozen or so occasions we passed through whether during the day for a cold beer or evenings and a meal (although only realised about the camping on the last couple of times we I had the foresight to ask!!!), perhaps you could fit that into your itinerary? It's so rustic it is really worth the experience for clients. Just a thought.

And Yoda's right, given up on his 'speling' long since - especially for you mate! thumbsup

Many thanks for that.

I will certainly look for the bar to stop for a drink and mention you.

The Guardia made me laugh last year they were asleep with there feet up on the doors thru the windows as we drove past, never seen them move so fast, they stopped the last vehicle, although there not really ever bothered with us, always just a quick look, ask where your going.

Hello All
We have just returned from the central Pyrenees, an area which I love, It was a amazing tour with a great group including a VW dealer who wanted to see how good a brand new VW Amorak was, Its a big vehicle, very long and wide which caused problems on the last day and a rock slide Rolling Eyes
anyway I've posted the photos/video if anyone interested, along with next years calender of Tours and a newsletter

Still at it? It's great when you get a nice group, censored horrible when you don't!!!

A rock slide vs a shiny new Amorak, I know which one my money would be on.

yes it was a brand new press vehicle, with them shiny chrome rails Evil or Very Mad

it needed a new set by the end of the week, I did warn them to take them off,

and with the rock slide I sugested they turned around and met up with the other at the end of the trail, I would drive them back but they wanted to carry on over the rocks affraid

we actually went up the bit on my picture to the left, that is going down we went up. again they insisted it went up whatever.

Fair enough, company car an' all that. Besides which, every weekend journalists hammer the life out of press vehicles far worse than anything while they were with you. I speak from bitter experience. I covered the European launch of the Nissan X-Trail for a Brit 4x4 mag at the time and a caravan hack managed to dump one of 'em on its roof ... trouble is I was in the passenger seat at the time! affraid

Hello Everyone

Just returned from another trip to Corsica, A fantastic trip with amazing trails but not for everyone, probably some of the hardest in Europe,
Due to the weather last year in May we decided to go in August and it was hot, 35 to 40 degs C.

Below is a short video and photos.

Next year another trip to the Pyrenees, already fully booked (booked ferry today direct to Spain) and also the amazing Alps.

We had the same last year they actually managed to drag them selves out of the Nissan and stop us but were more interested in the stamps in my passport than anything in the back of the truck.
The track seemed very cut up last year so its definitely being used more and I would expect from the deep ruts when the weather was pretty bad.

We may well see you there next year as will also be taking that route into Spain from Andorra.

Hello Tom

Corsica is a great place, people are great, the food is great, yes most track's are drivable, others were not, some are easy some are not, one a bridge was missing, washed away.

We also had days where we solely spent on hard surface roads visiting coastal villages and a world UNESCO site along with a couple of rest days spent by the pool.

Definitely by far the best trail is the "Piste des Seigneurs". it is 3 km long and takes about 3 1/2 hours, not an easy track and low range is essential.

That's neat - click on photo and drag it left or right. Lovely countryside no question, although a little disappointed not to see at least one of the group park on top of that big rock!

Hello Everyone.

Just recently back from an amazing trip to Serbia, an unusual destination I know, but very interesting.

Started in North East Serbia on the Border of Romania and followed the River Danube down past Bulgaria to Macedonia,

Apart from Serbia obviously a massive road trip thru Europe to get there,
