ok just a few pics ,,we were on the tracks this weekend nothing to difficult but a good shake down for its first outing,still jobs to do on it,,,finish the paint work get the new tires fitted and order a canvas,,,having a black one made, thumbsup

,,,but its coming on nice,,,its great to drive very good engine and box and diesel economy to boot,,,,, Laughing

well after a couple of soakings.. angry

... i decided to make a hard top as i will be making the camper body in the new year so a bit pointless forking out for a canvas for a couple of months,,,,,must admit it is nice and cosy,,,put the red neon lights inside,,,,keep getting flagged down and asked if i have anything to sell,,,,,,aaahhhum certainly not,,

started to strip the 90 for the new chassis,, scratching chin

yea i know it looks a bit errrr but when it gets the body on it and its all painted up it will look the dogs,,,,but at the moment its practical,,,,, thumbsup

ok had the new tires arrive for the mach 5,s this week,,,,,there 305x70x16 general grabber AT 2 much better ride now than the 900x16,s thumbsup

Those tyres do look sweet. Did you specifically choose the AT2's over the new Grabber At's?

I'm about to tdi the Keg. How are you finding the diesel. Have you done any thing with gearing. Is it load in your sparkly cab.

I have never really liked the look of the 101 but after seeing yours taking shape I'm well impressed.

petrol getting to expensive eh,,,,,,,
well if your going to tdi it go for a good 200 tdi and fit a complete unit ie engine and box that way you have 5 gears and you dont have to mess about with gearing,,,my first 101 i fitted an engine and box from a 200 ser disco and it was just right,,,and this 2.4VM lump is just right as well good gearing and 5 gears just have to get prop shafts made but well worth it,,,,,,
it was loud but i made an engine cover and insulated it with foam they use for hi fi systems its corrigated and cuts the noise out by about 80-90 % well worth doing,,,,,,
