Seriously, this forum is without doubt one of the best things I've ever done, as it passes on information about a pastime I love ... overlanding and adventure travel. This of course ties in very conveniently with 4x4 vehicles and off-roading, another of my passions, so I was always on to a winner from the start.

The big bonus I have to say is the folk that use the forum. Of course they are like-minded people, otherwise they wouldn't be here in the first place, but the camaraderie that's built up of a very short space of time really is gratifying. I've only met a few of you to date, mostly at the 4x4 and Land Rover shows in 2011, but that will grow as well as the forum starts to have promotions at selected shows this year.

Specifically at which events I will leave up to you as a group, the only definite thus far will be at my "ADVENTURE OVERLAND SHOW" at Whilton Mill, nr. Daventry, Northamptonshire NN11 2NH over weekend of 6-7 October 2012.

Next year I am arranging for the forum to have a pitch at the "Telegraph Adventure Travel Show", Olympia, West London ... ooooooooooo!!!!!!!! ... but more of this anon.

So, to everyone who has contributed to this forum (particularly 'Terror Jas' whose involvement has been above and beyond the call of duty!!!) thanks a million. Thanks too for the invites 'down under' and various places around the world, it really does restore one's faith in human nature. Mind you, if I do turn up, make certain you lock the drinks cabinet before I arrive, you could have a bit of a shock come the morn!
