Compass help Empty
PostSubject: Compass help   Compass help EmptyFri Jun 17, 2011 8:16 pm

Recently installed a Mudstuff console into my 90 and had to move my Silva compass as it got in the way.

Now struggling to find a place for it that doesnt get adversely affected by magnetism

Any tried and tested solutions please?

Thks

Take the compass out of the car and use it there.

I assume that's tongue in cheek Mike!!!

Its the ball-shaped one designed for boats and vehicles, not a hand held jobby. I want to see which direction I'm going when driving - I dont use satnav much, before that's suggested as an alternative............. Razz

Im unfamiliar with the Mudstuff console but can you mount it on top of the dash? Or does the Mudstuff console prevent this?

Yes of course it is.

Have you not got a sat nav of any description ?

A tablet looks good.

Been there, done it - I think most of us have. Every vehicle is different, so it's truly a case of trial and error.

Have to say these days I use my Garmin SatNav compass rather than my Silva floating type, but then the Silva is always on board as back up.
