HUBB UK 2017

I know a couple of us here are headed to HUBB 2017 in June. Anyone else going?

I'm hoping to get there at some point on the Thursday, as usual I will be billy no-mates as my new travel partner can't make it due to an unscheduled visit by the family.

As I'm now gainfully employed (well 2 days a week) by the W.I. the HUBB is probably the only show I'm going to make this year with a possible Sunday at Adventure Overland.

Although I'm only contracted to work the 2 days a week I stupidly volunteered to cover full timers annual leave (a decision I'm now regretting) so the middle of June all of July and August I'm protecting the little old racist ladies from the mongol hoards and repairing all the stuff they manage to break.
It's amazing how a small little old octogenarian lady can manage to rip a shower door clean off the runners repeatedly but hey ho while I'm home planning my next trip it's money in the bank well as long as HMRC don't take it all again this year

Yes the Womens Institute college is in our village and they were looking for a NDO to cover holidays and sickness etc so I've been working there helping out for about 4 years now.
This year one of the guys left and they asked me if I wanted to replace him on a permanent basis.

It's hardly taxing I work from 20.30 till midnight then on call till 08.30 so they basically pay me for sleeping 7-8 hours most nights. The monies handy as I don't have to dip into my capital which has taken a thrashing over the last few years due to trips away and the bloody tax man

Well just bought a caravan so have now booked the HUBB be arriving Thursday, see you there,

Well, back from HUBB UK 2017. Enjoyed it as always. There were quite a few 4x4s there but strangely no presentations on 4x4 travel. Might have to do something about this for next year. The weather was the real star...four days of sunshine which for Wales is pretty amazing! Got to meet some cool people though and our little group had some good catch ups around the bushpig camp fire.

Shame it clashes with the Allrad Show in Germany, then again it's always going to be more bike influenced, so no great loss personally.
