Welcome to the forum! cheers

What countries are you planning to visit whilst in Europe?

By the way, make certain that the container you find is watertight. Very often it's because they leak that they become surplus to requirements, so end up as storage units. I know from bitter experience that if there is any dampness creeping in, any material (chair, mattress, lampshade, etc.) will quickly develop a lovely smelly mould - somthing that's virtually impossible to get rid of.

Clothing especially needs to be in sealed boxes, as does all paperwork.

Good luck Joan!

Hi and welcome to the forum, there are some great places to visit in Europe I did the Tom's Landy Rally in 2011 and haven't looked back since we visited something like 11 countries in 9 days very hectic but I'm currently planning to revisit some of the places later this year with a few friends and then next year Drive the Italian coast visit the southern islands and then if time permits head off to Greece via Croatia and the other countries on route.

Also don't dismiss Scotland and the Western Isles I spent 3 weeks traveling round the Highlands, Skye, North and South Uist, Harris and Lewis earlier this year some fantastic places and views.

Good luck and remember to travel safe !

If you do make it to Greece, contact Nikos at Offroad Unlimited in advance - http://offroadunlimited.eu/?lang=en - he'll be a mine of information.

I realise you'll be travelling independently so won't want to join one of his tours, but he's a great guy so will welcome you if he's around at the time. He's attended the German shows and has even had a trade stand at the Adventure Overland Show, Stratford-upon-Avon Racecourse in England ... you may even have met him, really can't remember??? By all means mention my name, as I say he's a great bloke and a true off-road enthusiast.

Thanks for the info Tom.

I'm hoping to stop off at Adventure Southside on my way down if the dates match up.

I want to stop off at the Zeppelin museum on my way past the lake
