Calling all 4x4 adventures – Roof Rack with Echo Tent (made in South Africa)
We are currently selling a Front Runner roof rack made for a Toyota 80 Land Cruiser (specs are 2166mm/85.3” long) and an Echo Tent with an additional room. It has a steel based frame. The only tents in the world ever tested for the effect lightning will have on the tent, should it be struck by lightning The aluminium base together with the steel base, stainless steel cables and the u-frames forms a faraday cage (aeroplane’s are faraday cages). This means that should the tent get struck by lightning, the occupants in the tent will stand the best chance not to get injured by the lightning. NO OTHER TENTS KNOWN TO HAVE THIS FEATURE.
The size dimensions are Open Size: 2.45m x 1.6m x 1.3m. Closed Size: 1.25m x 1.6m x 20cm. Lots of room for 2 and enough for 3 people. Comes with ladder that can support weights up to 250kg. Very easy to set up, just folds out and the additional room is attached by Velcro. After our travels in Africa, it took us only 10 mins to set up once we had a routine sorted. The canvas stitching is very strong and in good conditioned. Horizontal stitching are kept to a minimum to prevent water from seeping into tent. All seams are double folded and stitched for extra strength and weather proofing. All zip sliders have special protective flaps behind them to weather proof the zips. Heavy duty mosquito netting on military specs with a dark green colour is used to create privacy. Comes with cover which has some stains on it. The Echo tents are one of the best roof tents you can purchase in South Africa and we have it available to pick up from Hertfordshire, UK.
