I spied that too. My immediate thought was, "that's well OTT", then I realised they probably need it to protect themselves from lions, hyenas, etc.

Hope somebody remembered to close the 'toddler gate' at the base of that spiral staircase!!! affraid

Actually, just seems a waste of a good 110 as that contraption is bolted to the vehicle. Obviously supposed to look cool for safari tourists but a shame for the truck that will rot away beneath it.

If you look closely at the bottom of the uprights you can see there are pieces that can be lifted up, so it can be driven around. may be a bit top heavy, clinking teacups

Know what you mean, but for the amount of money that woman is paying, it's all part of the game. A viewing platform attached to an iconic vehicle, pith helmets as standard, a lodge with a straw roof (doubtless covering the tiles), a local tribe that just 'happen to be passing' dancing outside her veranda at dusk ... it's what African Safaris are all about.
