| Hi Vixen Trip was the last 3 weeks in May of 2010. Basically started and finished in Bathurst where my travelling mate Chris lives. We headed out to Euabalong West and picked up the track/road beside the railway line and headed to Ivanhoe (about 400 km of dirt, and didn't see another vehicle). Then on to Menindee, Broken Hill and Pt Augusta environs. Then into the Gawler Ranges (Mt Ive Station and the National Park). Then into Pinkawillinie Conservation Park (all flat mallee country to the south of the Gawler Ranges). Then headed to Elliston on the coast and down to Coffin Bay for a week. We had horrible weather there and tried to get out but because of the shallow nature of the bay and the prevailing wind, the sea was lapping the dunes at low tide when we tried to drive along the beach (a false high tide). When we did get out it started raining again and continued back through Broken Hill, Cobabar , and Bathurst. Really was the breaking of the drought in western NSW. There would have been no way we could have retraced our outgoing route, it would have been mud up to the diffs. Cheers KarlB PS the two Series I photos are local. They were taken on a local club trip out the a sheep propert. Jim, who manages the property, collects Landies and amongst the other goers that he has there is a IIb forward control, a lightweight, and a 6x6 tipper. He has wrecks every where:

| A true enthusiast, of that there's no doubt! Some great shots there, the Series One guys over here will be wetting themselves to see those SI's just sitting there waiting for the day their turn comes for some TLC. Excellent!
Karl - when saving photos in future, please click on the 640px width (for websites) size - not the larger 800px width (for forums) or 1024px width (wallpapers). The ones you saved are TOO BIG!
Cheers! | |
