I currently runa Toyota LC 95 (its a Prado, Jap market spec) which i've had for 3 years, been excellent.
Recently I've been to Portugal twice, each time for 2 weeks, and driven many miles of deserted tracks!
Am thinking of either eastern Romania, or Nordkapp next, but in a bigger vehicle - something with onboard accom. - currently thinking about an Iveco 40.10.
My eldest lad tends to come along as well, we get on ok and he's training to be a mechanic, though not needed so far.
