Hello all !!!

Having done a trip from Johannesburg to London with a group organized by 'Encounter Overland' back in 1979 (Yes, it's 35 years ago   ) Africa never let loose on me, so once I was grown up (5 years ago  )  I decided to buy myself a Land Cruiser 76 SW (HZJ 76) and travel some of the old routes by myself.

Since this car would have cost me almost double in Germania (where I reside) than in South Africa, I bought and registered it in SA and have it parked with a friend in Johannesburg.

So far I've travelled around Southern Africa (RSA, Lesotho, Swaziland, Mozambique, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe & Zambia) but being close to retirement my plans go further North !

Searching the internet I stumbled over various blogs that recommended to sign up here to gain valuable & always up-to-date overland info and to share my own travel experiences with like minded people.

So here I am hoping for tons of reading & writing !

Hi and welcome to the forum, there are a few on here that have traveled extensively through Africa and its always good to read stories about their adventures.
I have only really done a little of North Africa (Morocco, Tunisia and Egypt) but would love to venture further south at some point.
One day hopefully when things settle down a bit in some areas if that ever happens.

It'll never happen, you know that ... C'est l'afrique!
