With the recent turn in the weather, the farmers of the country are all in a rush to cut their grass for hay and silage, and this means a mass of tractors on the road, particularly last weekend, and through this week, so if you see one give it a little consideration and some room as for the last couple of years silage and hay have been in short supply due to the bad weather, and its been imported at inflated prices. This pushes up the price of food as most farm animals use hay and grazing animals eat silage through the winter to supplement feeds, so this year their should be a surplus, prices will fall and meat prices should go down.
So why do I ask people to consider tractors:
Mine weighs around 9 tonnes, add the front loader and this puts another 1.25 tonnes onto it, and the front nose weights add another 2 tonnes, so already it weighs slightly over 12 tonnes; add another 8 tonnes of trailer and around 29 tonnes of bales and we are close to 50 tonnes, and all on cleated tractor tyres with little grip on the roads, but good traction in fields; so the poor tyres and high weights mean they take longer than an articulated lorry to stop.
