| Good man. Trust the Isuzu is covered in 4x4 Response stickers? If not it should be! Info here: www.4x4response.infoIt's times like this the whole world is turned on its head. Rather than being something that a lot of folk think lives on the base of their shoe, we're suddenly 'the good guys' for we're the only ones that can get through. I therefore think we should tell the world, as the 'antis' are quick enough to put us down, so we should respond in kind. An official pat of the back from yours truly ... keep up the good work mate! | |

| Izzy the Bakkie has stickers on tailgate and bonnet
Just got another call, on standby for local health centre tonight 6 till 10
Phone keeps going with other jobs rolling in, looks like organisations have finally relised what a useful service we are.
On friday met an ambulance driver who had been collected from home by 4x4 response and delivered to her ambulance station so she could do her shift and was then being picked up at the end and being taken home.

| Just measured 6" on the garden wall. The road outside should prove interesting in the morning as the neighbours head off to work. The road's on a slope and this latest lot of snow has fallen on compact show, which of course has now turned to ice. I know this is so as when I was parking up the Honda Civic last night, I went to turn around and got stuck halfway across the road ... T-boned if you like. Realising it was going to prove very embarassing if I continued trying, I decided not to bother and fortunately had the turning circle to face downhill and park up. Obviously haven't moved it since. Charging battery on the Rangie at the mo as i have a sneaky feeling it'll be needed tomorrow. My what fun. | |

| Just got in , spent the evening driving for a district nurse to get her to calls.
Main roads clear, side roads can be interesting.

| I bet. Then again, maybe it would have been more interesting to take the camper, that way if you'd got stuck you could have brewed up, have a midnight feast and spend the night with nursie!!! | |

| Phone bleeped at 8;30am this morning .... asking responders to stand by , I hadn't even looked out of the windows at that point
Bleeped again a little later. Vehicles for meals on wheels delivery needed so off I trundle to do 70 miles of snowy roads with a meals on wheels driver for company as we did his round and after all the snow the last meal was only half an hour late. Not my planned day but a good day.

| getting deja vu - guess what I did again today Well I need to fix diesel heater in Iveco as we are goingon holiday in it next week - but that didn't get done, too cold to crawl under truck and try to find diesel pump Went to play afterwards. Charnwood hills got drifiting snow quite badly so I ended up pulling out a landrover with the Isuzu | |

| The Landy nearly made it up the hill, but I assume the snow piling up in front of the tyres finally slowed it down. Unless you have ground clearance of a Unimog, guess it would slow most 4x4's down. Amazing stuff snow, surprisingly how little it actually takes for you to grind to a halt. Even by compressing snow in your hands to form a snowball, it doesn't take much for that innocent-looking fluffy white stuff to form into a solid lump. Same effect in front of a moving vehicle, it just keeps compacting until the point it becomes like a low wall. One of these bolt-on jobbies would have been handy ... | |
