We've had some pretty heavy rain recently...in fact it's getting hard to remember that this is Australia and supposed to be warm & sunny. Summer has certainly been a flop so far. Ex-tropical cyclone Tasha is dropping huge amounts of rain on the east coast this week......lots and lots of flooding all over Qld & parts of NSW this month and this latest deluge is just making it all the wetter.
Coops and I went out for a drive to check up on the river & creek levels. It's always a bit more interesting after heavy rain
We did all the usual haunts........
This is one of the roadside runoff falls...only happens after heavy rain but looks great
The creeks across Numinbah Rd. These are the ones that come up enough to stop thru traffic, and Coops getting to work via this road whistle2.gif Not deep, but you could feel the force of the water which was running very fast.
Roadside runoff again on Numinbah Rd
Along Couchy Creek Rd. The falls was running well and the water at the causeway just starting to go over the road
Someone (I wonder who? whistle2.gif ) checking the depth and force of the water in Couchy Creek.
The Rous River at the river ford.....not passable methinks whistle2.gif
Fair bit of force in that water....got a good pressure wave happening
The Tweed River at Tumbulgum. Doesn't need much for it to break it's banks here. The boat ramp has disappeared
Still some way to go to beat a previous flood level though
And a few random pics around the place on a bleak day.....

An early dose of snow over here, the second or third lot for some. No photos myself, but this was my mate just before Christmas ...

I remember snow when I was a kid....I love snow but then I don't have to try to live in it
I hope you don't get as much rain as we've had come summer.....400+mm (that's 16inches plus) this month already  The ground is now so sodden that any rain falling now just runs off.....guess what next's weeks forecast is? rain, rain, rain.......feels like all it's done for months now

And the experts all bang on about global warming, if they were right we should not have snow so why the hell does it keep coming? and why do i keep having to go and play in it with the 4X4, oh i remember now, its to rub the environmentalists and anti 4X4's noses in it.
