Hi all just copied this from Defender2 forum

Dear Editor and Secretary,
Re; Let’s Club Together
For many years now we have looked after club members in one way or another, especially when
several members have got together to order 2, 3 or more winches between them.

The majority of our sales for off-road vehicles is most definitely the brilliant TDS-9.5c and occasionally the TDS-12.0c

These fabulous winches have a great number of features including being waterproof out of the box giving them our trade name ‘Goldfish’. Many will have seen the winch in our fish tank at the shows. This winch has been running under water at nearly 50 shows over the last 5 years. That’s well over 500 hours submersed and is a real tribute to the product. All we have done is to add a little more RTV sealant and some extra grease to make it fully submersible. We serviced it for good measure after Billing last August and fitted some new motor brushes.

For this winter season and well into the spring, I am happy to offer your members the following special discount structure on our winches:

One member ordering one winch less 10%
Two members ordering two winches less 12.5%
Three members ordering three winches less 15%
Four members ordering four winches less 17.5%
Five members ordering five winches less 20%

Your members can order individually and can be sent to their own addresses with free carriage on the mainland.

This deal with special discounts covers any accessories ordered at the same time, ie: Dyneema Bowrope, fitting kits etc.

All prices to be based on our prices shown in our adverts and on our website. VAT must be added to the final total.

It would be appreciated if you would kindly put this information on your website and/or in your clubs’ magazine/newsletter, very many thanks.

Sounds like a little desperation there, the hard times are hitting.

It may well, but and it can be a good thing, one of my favourite words is discount, by preferred word is free.

The hard times are hitting, or rather they've already hit, so I’d say a little direct marketing is a prudent move. Put it this way, if Goodwinch get some takers then everyone wins - that has to be good!

The thing is, unlike American giant Warn Winches who can afford multi-national advertising campaigns, Brit David Bowyer of Goodwinch runs a small independent company that produces excellent products, so just can't match them in spreading the word. Don't know if "desperation" is the right word (a bit harsh), perhaps by contacting the 4x4 forums "improvisation" is more apt?
