Well the truck has been delivered down to my mates for its custom intercooler install - get it back in december

So hopefully it should see a 30% increase in performance, so I might be able to go uphill without dropping off so much speed

Keep us posted.

I put an intercooler on my old 2.4 Landcruiser and the difference was incredible.

Intercooler for the Iveco Empty
PostSubject: Its a Tdi !   Intercooler for the Iveco EmptySun Jan 06, 2013 9:42 am

Well my truck now has an intercooler fitted, driven it 100 miles back
home from Cinderford

Its definatly improved pulling away from a standing start, and on steep
hills its allows me to stay in a higher gear.

Crusing it just makes progress better, it'll see the high side of 60 on
the speedo easily (the speedo over-reads) and copes with the rise and
fall of the road better. All in all very pleased and impressed, its alot
more relaxing driving now

The way it was done was to use a manifold from a xx-12 4x2 truck. You
can turn the kkk turbo on this manifold so you can get the pipes to run
correctly. The other part you need is the inlet pipe to the engine which
on our trucks is vertical but on a xx-12 truck is horizontal (you can
buy this part from iveco for 70 quid or so)

Mine was a custom built intercooler from allisport (www.allisport.com) ,
i'll post pictures soon

If you can't get a good intercooler from Allisport, you won't get one anywhere. With experience gained through years of development in the off-road motorsport scene, they certainly know their stuff. Pleased it worked on the Iveco.

A mate of mine adapted a sizeable alloy intercooler off a Transit for the 300 Tdi motor in my Range Rover ambulance, it works a treat. Not the simpliest of tasks as both the original flow and return had to be blocked and re-located, but as he is into alloy welding it wasn't a drama for him - for anyone else it would be a nightmare.

I know about Allisports quality.

Andy (owner) and I sat out in the Libyan and Tunisian desert back in 2000 discussing what he should do and the group of us there convinced him to go for it.... the rest as they say is history

So there was no choice about who was doing my intercooler :-)

Thats why my old 101 had so many Allisport stickers and parts on it (intercooler, tanks, even the snorkel)

Glad to hear it was installed and works well. Thumbs up on allisport from me.
Have you got any pics you can put up? Would be cool to see it and it might help other owners.
