Hello all, just a quick post to introduce myself - as Phil, from Pembrokeshire.

Along with Helen, my girlfriend, and Betsy, my 90, we went to the Adventure overland show and have to say thanks to all who organised it, it was ( apart from being so damn far away from us!) a fantastic show! (I hope this is the right forum linked to that show?)

Ive done a little bit of travelling before, including a month around New Zealand in a campervan, and we are now planning a trip around some of Europe and hopefully Morocco. So im hoping i've come to the right place to ask endless questions for advice on the trip...

Phil

Welcome P, H & B from Pembrokeshire! cheers

Yep, you found us! In fact you've got me to blame for the fact the show is so far from you. I had no choice but to hold AO`12 (ADVENTURE OVERLAND 2012) in what they call the M1 corridor, that way percentage-wise it gave the greatest number of people possible a fighting chance of attending. Hardly central to you I realise, but at least you had the beautiful Welsh coast to go back to ... I'm still stuck here in Midlands! No

As it happens, a guy who comes on here username of 'lonct' runs the SWPOC (South Wales Pajero Owners Club), although half of them have now got Land Rovers! Good bunch they are, they will be attending AO`13, so who knows - team up with them and the journey to and from Haverfordwest or wherever won't seem half as long next year.

Thanks for attending AO12 and for the kind words, as it happens I enjoyed it myself!!!

As for "endless questions for advice on the trip", that's why we're here. Not saying the answers will be any help mind you, but ask away regardless! thumbsup

Roamingman aka Yoda was at AO`12 too as an official. A hansome bugger, never quite sure why we called him Yoda, surely Popeye would have been more appropriate? scratching chin

Hopefully we'll have a few vehicles to go up in a convoy next year, good idea to join with that club too though.
We gave up on the Land Rover shows a few years ago, so it was a welcome change to see a bit of variety at the show - not just Land Rovers everywhere you look!

Like you I had got fed up with the same old fare being dished up at Land Rover shows. It's okay having loads of Landies, but there has to be more variety.

Agreed - bring back Yoda!
