Bonfires Empty
PostSubject: Bonfires   Bonfires EmptyThu Nov 01, 2012 12:13 pm

Its been a good evening as we began preperations for the village bonfire, for about 3 months we have saved any damaged pallets and stacked them on an old tralier as our suppliers don't want damaged pallets back, tonight I hitched up a tractor unit and took them with me, as I got to the village green most of the kids were waiting for me to arrive so they could unload all 8 tonnes of them and begin building. It all went well as they built something similar to the pyramids, only in pallets, and set out the fire core ready for the arrival of all the other wood they and the rest of the village have collected, and the trees we cut down a short while ago which will all go on the fire; all in all we estimate about 20 tonnes of timber will be laid on the village bonfire ready for Saturday night.

As an aside we have a villager whose hobby is old trucks, he has just finished restoring a Green Goddess and this will be on stand-by so we have fire fighting equipment if we need it.

How many others are having bonfires this weekend.

Its great living in a small and very friendly village where the people come together for such events, we have several trees and lots of general wood to go on yet and a lot will have to go on with the teleporter as its the only thing which will reach the top.

Lord alone knows how many fireworks we have, we have a kitty and everyone donates something to it and a couple of the villagers have apparently done a bulk deal on the fireworks, if we have that many we can have a bonfire over two nights.
