101 OVER LANDER

Ok after getting back from the show and sleeping in the office freezing my thingys off i have decided to pull my finger out of my bottom and get on with the over lander conversion so next year hope fully i will have it at the show.

so i have started the conversion this week i stripped the body off and laid all the bearers and welded them up so lots to do this week roof and sides ..

A good start to the conversion nmate, although you may have to move the rear lights.

yea lights are going to be moved keep watching....it will all become clear...

Looks as if you are going to make a box body to match the width of the cab, but have you considered building an oversize box to gain that extra bit of space?

Even better, so it wouldn't be permanent, with your skills you could easily construct a slide-out section to give yourself some additional width. Unlike my RR ambulance which would be a nightmare to add a slide-out section (I did actually consider it at one stage) the slab sided 101FC would be the ideal base for an additional section on one or even two sides.

Come to that, you could even have a slide-out rear. I'm sure it would look a lot better than this hideous thing!

ok been busy this last few weeks finished the frame treated and painted now starting to panel it up fitted the first window and locker box door.. ..still lots to do hope fully i will get it panaled up this week,, ,,,watch this space.

Not sure if it looks more like a spray booth or a prison cell for solitary confinment?

Don't think our Tuggy will ever be the "finished article".

Build yourself some LED lights Tuggy, fit and test, seal with epoxy pouring compound to make them waterproof, job done, fit and forget them.

managed to mount the frame back on the truck and put the roof on and a couple of panels window and locker door,,,then i pulled a muscle in my back and its all come to a standstill . :shock: ....but hope fully i will have it paneled up for christmas then i can put the floors in and start fitting out in the new year.. ...then next year im traveling ....

Better fill those six spares with helium, that'll help the weight!

going to get some roof mounted leds i seen on flebay use 0.8w 21 leds will try one first......and use a single ring main....

If you wan't to build some custom ones, they're very simple and you can make them to any shape to fit any space, give me a shout and I will run through it in detail.

I just dont have the time to build lights its a lot easier to buy them off e bay .. ....job done. ...but thanks for the offer....

ok managed to get most of the paneling done still got the edgings to finish.then 2nd week in january its going into the paint shop for the full monty.. ...so only got the floor to put in and fit out so should be finished for spring....

Looking great Tug m'lad. Am I right in assuming that eventually there will be a rack above the cab? Just ripe for it, that's for sure.

oh yes,,,,,spare wheel will live up there and maybe jerry cans..im also having some sort of roll over protection....so it will look a bit like a dakar truck,,,, :shock:
