PostSubject: building a 4x4 trailer   Thu Aug 30, 2012 12:28 pm

As Madmaan10 ask me, i will show some photos of the trailer i´m building.

this is the main body of the trailer over an old chasis i use with a diesel tank. i have to change the half-elliptic leaf springs to down the trailer about 20cm.

Now the chasis have been modify, the front triangle is been modify and is 70cm longer to let the back door of the land rover open, and have new tires

this is an image of the chasis, now is in the spring shop.

and this is why i have to modify the front of it

i take the model of the horizon triler. you can google this american trailer.

the idea is to built a roof rack, to put on the 2,2mt roof top tent. (4 person top tent)

i hope you like ( accept new ideas)

Very nice. Have you done all this yourself? Looks like a very good job.

i send to a place to fold the metal leaf, and then i weld it.

first i make the design adapting the main box to the chassis i have had, taking the idea from de horizon trailer page.

I use sketchup to do the drawing. It help me to dream, and then to do.

Looking good, although I need to ask a quick question - how wide is the track?

I ask because the wheels don't look as wide as the Land Rover. Surely for stability you need to make the trailer's wheels as wide as possible if it is to be used off-road.

Intersting! Is the chassis beefy enough to take a pounding?
